Fun Indoor Activities for Toddlers this Winter

Hi Friends,

Do you have a toddler at home? If so, you probably already know how hard it can be to keep those little balls of energy entertained when they can’t go outside. Don’t worry though, I have created a post with lots of fun indoor activities for toddlers this winter!

Indoor Snowball Fight

Who says you have to go outside to have a snowball fight? Have a snowball fight in the living room with your toddler this winter. You will both have a blast and stay toasty warm! You can buy indoor snowballs, or you can use pom poms or rolled-up clean socks that you already have at home.

Indoor Obstacle Course

Build an indoor obstacle course for your toddler to complete, or have them help you build it. There are lots of easy ways to build an obstacle course with challenges inside of your home that will keep your toddler busy for hours. You can find some good ideas to get you started here

Scavenger Hunt

Set up an easy scavenger hunt for your toddler by hiding objects around the house for them to find. It doesn’t have to be complicated, they will just love the hunt, it probably wouldn’t hurt to have one of the items they find to be a treat like a sucker or a small piece of candy!

CD Air Hockey

Do you have some old CDs laying around the house and an empty cereal or another box that can be used as a goal? Then you have a simple toddler activity that will keep them busy for a while! CD air hockey takes no time to set up and will provide a lot of laughs and entertainment.

Ski Inside

Let your toddler ski inside the house! You can work together to create these amazing skis from items you already have around the house. Make sure that you get plenty of pictures of your little skier too!

Sticky Snowman

If your toddler loves art and making things then you will love this sticky snowman project. Let your toddler create to their little heart’s content with buttons, snowflakes, and more, and all of the mess is contained thanks to contact paper!

Little People Ski Ramp

This toddler-approved winter activity is so easy you are going to wonder why you didn’t think of it yourself. All you need are some popsicle sticks, little people, hot glue, an empty box, and a piece of cardboard. Your toddler will love sending their little people skiing down the ramp!

Dance Party

Does your little one need to get some of those winter wiggles out? Put on some of their favorite kid songs and let them dance around the living room. They will burn off some energy and have fun too!

Iceberg Hop

Does your toddler ever play the game that the floor is lava? If so, then this is an activity that they will love. Just cut a few “icebergs” out of white paper and let them hop from iceberg to iceberg!

Snowball Painting

Snowball painting is a fun and easy sensory activity for toddlers that also helps them to practice their fine motor skills. All you need is white and blue paint, clothespins, cotton balls or pom poms, and construction paper for this art project!

Indoor Hide and Seek

Indoor hide and seek doesn’t take any planning or preparation. Just make sure to set limits like you can’t go outside or hide in Mommy’s room and take turns hiding and seeking each other!

These are just a few of the fun winter indoor activities that you can do with your toddler. I find that if you have a list of activities like this one, it’s easy to pull together an activity when the kids start getting bored. Do you have any other fun winter activities for toddlers to share?

xoxo,
Ari
